Deep Purple: Stormbringer

Deep Purple – Stormbringer

Deep Purple bring a funkier edge to their hard rock sound on Stormbringer, originally released in 1974. David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes share vocal duties, with Ritchie Blackmore on guitar, Jon Lord on keyboards and Ian Paice on drums.

The driving title track sits alongside the groove-led You Can't Do It Right (With the One You Love) and the soulful Hold On, while Soldier of Fortune closes the album on a quieter, acoustic-led note. It's a distinctive chapter in the band's catalogue, balancing heavy riffs with blues, soul and funk influences.

A great choice for listeners exploring Deep Purple's Coverdale–Hughes era and the more groove-driven side of 1970s rock.
